In this presentation, we will evaluate and emphasize the features and benefits of both the oxyfuel and manual plasma cutting processes. New technologies for both processes make this a relevant discussion topic and a continuous controversy. By exploring the key benefits and disadvantages of each process, the presentation will illustrate the necessity for both in most facilities. Detailing applications and exploring when, where and why each process is necessary or unnecessary, will help companies determine the most efficient use of their purchasing dollars and the best use of each system for maximum productivity.

John Henderson
ESAB Welding and Cutting
John Henderson, a 33-year AWS member, currently serves in an advisory capacity for the C-4 Committee (Oxyfuel Gas Welding and Cutting). Working with ESAB for 18 years in Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, Sales leadership; John is currently the Sales Director for Gas Equipment. Prior experience includes global manufacturing and distribution. An avid traveler, John has been all over the world and to every US state except North Dakota.
