C11: All Aboard: An Interactive Trip Through the Powder Coating Process

An interactive approach to training, this session will take the attendee on a journey through the world of powder coatings. In this session the attendee will take a train ride with stops at certain locations where major components of the powder coating process will be discussed, led by the expert from each location. This trip starts in Loadville where Conductor Steve will explain the journey they are about to embark on and share the importance of developing an optimal loading process. Once this section is complete the attendee will board the train and head to the next process. A few miles up the road in Cleansville, Mayor Cleaner will demonstrate the best and most optimal way to clean and prepare powder coated parts. At the end of the adventure, attendees will have learned all aspects of a powder coating process and returned safely to the station.

Speakers
John Cole
Parker Ionics
John Cole is President of Parker Engineering of America and its operating unit Parker Ionics. He has 50 years of finishing industry experience and is a licensed professional engineer. John is a frequent speaker for both the PCI and the Chemical Coaters Association International. He is also an industry expert writer for multiple trade magazines, blogs, podcasts, and webinars. He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from the University of Michigan.
Brian Korecky
Bulk Chemiclas
Brian Korecky is the Technical Sales and Service Representative with Bulk Chemicals Inc. Korecky earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Alvernia University where he was a member of Phi Beta Lambda and SHRM. Coming from a background in finance, Korecky is the third generation in the metal finishing industry with over 5 years’ experience. He is a frequent speaker for both the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) and The Powder Coating Institute (PCI). Korecky has published several industry articles and was honored as one of the ‘Top 40 under 40’ by Products Finishing Magazine in 2023.
Steve Houston
Vitracoat Powder Coatings
Steve Houston has been a business leader for more than 35 years. He has managed large sales organizations, technical support teams, research and development groups and has years of experience as a speaker and trainer for powder coatings. He has been the Marketing and Sales Excellence Leader for the Coatings and Color Technologies Platform. Steve’s last position with DuPont was Global Marketing Director for DuPont Industrial Coatings Division. He served as the Executive Director for The Powder Coatings Institute and then Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Expansion for the powder division of RPM. Currently Steve is the Vice President & Business Director at Vitracoat, the largest independent powder supplier to the western hemisphere.
