This presentation will give an overview of the different types of pretreatment chemistries that are available for use in paint pretreatment. It will discuss the chemical make-up, positives and negatives of each, as well as the situations that each are best used for. We will go over zinc phosphate, iron phosphate, zirconium, and silane technology, how they are applied, how they are made, and what they are best for.

Diana has over 35 years of experience in the metal finishing industry, focusing on cleaning, conversion coatings, electroless nickel and rust preventatives. She joined DuBois Chemicals from the acquisition of Heatbath Corporation and over the years has been involved in many aspects including quality control, production support, technical service and R&D. She is currently the Director of R&D for DuBois’ Surface Finishing Group.
