Water Reuse in the Finishing Industry
Water reuse in the surface coating and finishing industry presents a multifaceted landscape of challenges and advantages. This session examines the feasibility and implications of water reuse in this sector, focusing on the technical, economic, and environmental dimensions. The challenges encompass the effective removal of contaminants introduced during coating processes, the associated treatment costs, and the need for regular maintenance of water reuse systems. Despite these hurdles, the advantages of water reuse are significant. By conserving freshwater resources and minimizing environmental impact, water reuse aligns with sustainability objectives and enhances the competitiveness of companies in the surface coating industry. In addition to discussing challenges and advantages, we will explore the role of reuse equipment and processes in facilitating water reuse. Various technologies, such as membrane filtration, activated carbon adsorption, and advanced oxidation processes, play crucial roles in treating wastewater to meet reuse standards. The selection of appropriate equipment and processes depends on factors such as the composition of wastewater, desired water quality, and operational considerations. Moreover, effective integration of water reuse equipment into existing surface coating operations requires careful planning and monitoring to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.

Conserving Resources – Driving Operational Savings to the Bottom Line
In this session we will discuss practical tips to minimize input costs and optimize wash line performance. We will examine, water, chemical, energy, and manpower usage, reviewing best practices to minimize waste and maximize profitability. In many cases solutions will be synergistic, improving line performance while reducing overall operating cost.
