This session will explain the importance of industry certifications and credentials and the impact they have in untapped communities. We will discuss why industry certifications matter in today’s job market and the benefits of certifications for students’ career prospects and job placement. This session will also identify pathways to stacking multiple certifications while seeking more advanced job placement and closing the digital divide. Setting clear goals to pathways of STEM success will also be covered along with effective strategies in obtaining certifications. Key takeaways are identifying the importance of STEM certification, the importance of upskilling, keeping up with current industry standards and trends, taking a bite out of poverty with industry certifications, and breaking barriers within untapped communities.
