Laser Cleaning/Ablation as a Novel Tool in Aerospace Manufacturing
This presentation explores how laser technology has become the preferred method for mass manufacturing, focusing on its role in laser cleaning/ablation processes. Lasers have revolutionized manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul practices, particularly in achieving thorough cleaning before coating or joining operations. By showcasing successful laser cleaning applications, the presentation highlights enhanced productivity, cost savings, and improved part quality, affirming lasers as a transformative force in manufacturing.

What to Consider When Setting up a 3D Laser Cutting System for Aluminum
This presentation will discuss what to consider when laser cutting aluminum. The focus will be on 3D cutting systems, but concepts will apply to flat sheet cutting as well. The key factors to be examined are laser power, gas type and pressure, nozzle technology, spot size, focus position and advanced beam forming technologies. Each of these will influence the performance of your system where the primary attributes are cutting speed, maximum material thickness, edge quality and heat affected zone. The type and thickness of aluminum along with the quality requirements of the final part will all be factors to consider for setting up a new cutting system or improving on an existing one.
