Supply Chain Transformation - From Globalization to Regionalization.

Basic 11:00 am - 11:45 am

The many disruptions that all global manufactures are experiencing because of tariffs and previously COVID, is forcing many to reexamine their approach to manufacturing and resourcing. This presentation will cover the pains of navigating, sourcing, and distribution delays on a global scale. It will then explain the wide-spread transformation of manufacturing, where manufacturers are currently experiencing great added value from regionalizing manufacturing and material resourcing. "Regionalization" makes manufacturers better prepared to supply customers in all regions because they have set up "local" shops and are utilizing more vendor resources. Manufactures are no longer beholden to just one supplier – in one location. Customers are now receiving faster delivery times and, in some cases, lower costs.

How Fabrication Shops Are Chosen in 2026

Intermediate 11:45 am - 12:30 pm

This presentation examines how fabrication buyers are choosing shops in 2026 as AI-driven answers, recommendations, and reputation signals increasingly replace traditional search and referral patterns. Using real job shop scenarios, it explains why highly skilled fabrication businesses can become effectively invisible and how discovery breakdowns affect inbound work, stability, and growth. The session explores the non-technical signals that influence trust and visibility, along with the operational risks of ignoring these shifts. Attendees will leave with a clear framework for understanding how work reaches fabrication shops today and how to assess their own exposure in a changing buyer environment.
